As of 1/319/25 the Monroe Parks and Recreation Department is accepting applications for 2025 SFD Camp Staff, Admission Monitors, Lifeguards, Swim Instructors, Seasonal Intern and Park Ambassadors until April 1, 2025.

If you are interested in a Gardener or Parks Maintenance you must contact Public Works at 203-452-2814 and to speak with Bill Phillips.

  • Job Application-Employees looking to return for 2025 summer season Completed application can be mailed addressed to PARKS AND RECREATION using the address on the top of the application; scan or email to parksandrec@monroect.gov; or you can drop it off to our office. This application is for staff who worked for us summer 2024. All are encouraged to reapply, but there is no guarantee of rehire. Lifeguard certification must be through American Red Cross.

  • Seasonal Job Application Form for 2025 Potential new staff Completed applications can be mailed addressed to PARKS AND RECREATION using the address on the top of the application; scan or email to parksandrec@monroect.gov; or you can drop it off to our office. Seasonal positions are ongoing until filled. This is new hire application. All are encouraged to apply and select one position you are interested in as return staff has first priority. You must be 16 years of age or older to apply for most positions. We do not hire any individuals under this age and we do not give interviews to everyone. Lifeguard certification must be through the American Red Cross. Anyone wishing to apply for parks maintenance and gardeners MUST go through the Public Works Department. We started this in the 2024 season.

  • Summer Job Description - Admissions Monitor Applications are now being accepted for the 2025 season. Must be 16 years of age or older and be available weekday afternoons, early evening and on weekends. Deadline is April 15, 2025.

  • Summer Job Description - Camp Counselor We are accepting applications for the 2025 summer camp staff from 2/1/25-4/15/25. Completed applications must be either dropped off in person or scanned as a PDF to parksandrec@monroect.gov. No photo copies will be accepted. We can't promise that everyone who applies will get an interview due to the volume of returning staff we may have.

  • Parks and Recreation Department Intern 2025 The Monroe Parks and Recreation Department is seeking motivated individuals who are pursuing a college degree in the field of Parks and Recreation from an accredited that need to obtain an internship opportunity for Spring 2025 and/or Summer 2025.
