As of 8/25/25 the Monroe Parks and Recreation Department is accepting applications for for Admission Monitors, Lifeguards, Swim Instructors, Diving Coach, Aerobics Instructor, Zumba Instructor and Line Dancing Teacher (We will accept applications until all positions are filled but we can't always guarantee an interview)

    • Water Safety Instructor Job Description for 2026 seasonal employment
    • hese positions are for individuals who are currently certified as Water Safety Instructors (WSI) through American Red Cross and are interested in teacing swimming lessons. We need instructors for Adult Lessons, Parent/Child and Levels 1 through 5. If seriously interested please fill out applications and submit with your valid & current certfications to parksandrec@Monroect.gov. Must be 16 years of age or older.

    • This application is for prospective individuals looking to be employeed for seasonal work who are 16 years of age or older for spring/summer 2026 employment.     • Job Application-Employees looking to return for 2026 summer season
    • Completed application can be mailed addressed to PARKS AND RECREATION using the address on the top of the application; scan or email PDF versions to parksandrec@monroect.gov; or you can drop it off to our office. No photo copies/scans will be accepted becuase when we print out they are hard to read. Deadline to submit is April 1, 2026 or until all positions are filled for our needs. All are encouraged to reapply, but there is no guarantee of rehire. This application is for staff who worked for us summer 2025. Lifeguards certification must be through American Red Cross and a valid cerification attached that goes through Septemeber 7, 2026. Camp Staff can only have one full week off for 2026. If you can't committ to seven weeks we will not rehire.

    • Summer Job Description - Pool/Lake Manager Summer 2026
    • We are looking to hire a seasonal staff person 21 years of age or older with valid aquatic certfications to help oversee our outdoor pool and lake from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend. Position would require lifeguarding, scheduling of guards, light maitenance and customer service. Hour are flexible but do require many weekends, some special events and holidays such as July 4th, Labor Day Monday and Memorial Day Monday.

    • Job Description - Lifeguard Spring/Summer 2026 seasonal
    • We are seeking current certfied lifeguards to work Wolfe Park Pool, Great Hollow Lake and Masuk Pool for the Spring/Summer 2026. Must be 16 years of age or older and currently certfied as an American Red Cross Lifeguard at the time of submitting an application. This is seasonal position around our needs due to programs and camps we run. We do not emply 15 year olds.
