A free wait list is available. (Use same process as registration) Make sure your child is on the list. We will call families in the order they appear on the list for any openings if we can accommodate. (1/30/24)
The Summer Fun Days Camp is an outdoor camp held at Wolfe Park. On inclement weather days we head to an indoor weather location at one of the Monroe Public School buildings. Everything will be explained in better detail when the parent newsletter is emailed to you. This is a weekly schedule specific to each session and is sent out the Thursday before each session starts to highlight the activities or other important information. Please make sure you have a valid and correct email that you check often associated with your account as important information is sent this way. (Check box off to receive email blasts!)
Drop off and pick up will be curb side at Wolfe Park or our rainy day location.
We are bringing in entertainment groups and special event activities to go along with our theme weeks. There will be fields trips this season for certain sessions.
Participants of Summer Fun Days Camp will enjoy jam packed days with play, learning and fun. Each week campers will have the opportunity to swim at the Wolfe Park Pool, Splash in Great Hollow Lake, do Arts & Crafts, play various sports and organized games, have playground time, hike the various trails and get free play with their new friends. Groups are made by grade and are all co-ed. (Your child's grade is based on which grade they are going into in Fall 2024). We unfortunately, do not take requests for group placements. Participants must have completed Pre-K 3 (fully potty trained for the youngest ones) through 6th grade.
You can see how many spaces are available in each session below. If a session is full please be sure to add your child to the wait list. Last year (2023) camp season filled very quickly, so don't delay. If an opening occurs on a session, we will contact those on the wait list in the order in which they were placed there. We do not accommodate partial weeks or half days and do not provide early care or late pick-ups. Camp is 9:00 am-4:00 pm.

Session 1: Kick Off to Summer (6/24 - 6/28)
Welcome back party animals! Summer Fun Days Camp is your ultimate destination to a summer filled with amazing memories and friends that will last a lifetime. Get ready to get outside in the sunshine for some FUN! Campers will get into the swing of summer by enjoying camp classics such as Capture the Flag, Tag, Gaga Ball, Parachute Games and Relay Races. Participants will continue the week participating in a variety of their favorite summer activities and crafts. Three days of exclusive Wolfe Park pool time are included. Participants will end the week a special food treat and Laser Tag on the Go makes a visit!!!
Session 2: Red, White and You! (7/1 - 7/3)
Help us celebrate America this week! We will be doing all things Red, White, and Blue. There will be patriotic games and crafts to enjoy! Two days of exclusive Wolfe Park Pool time are included, as well as a Mini Golf Course coming to Wolfe Park-FORE!!!! Campers will celebrate the end of a short fun week of camp with our 5th annual all-American cookout. (Please note there is no camp on 7/4 & 7/5)
Session 3: Wild Wild West (7/8 - 7/12)
It’s time to saddle up the horses, put on your boots and cowboy hat and get ready to round up some fun as we go on our own Wild Wild West adventure. Have a great time exploring the trails at Wolfe Park and participate in a Wild West scavenger hunt. Campers will get to make their very own Dream Catchers too. Everyone will get to try our version of Cowboy Caviar and participate in dressing up in your best western attire. Enjoy fun activities like swimming, sports, hiking, crafts, and more!
Session 4: Play Your Heart Out (7/15 - 7/19)
Everybody gets a turn this week! Let’s play the games we love and games we can’t wait to master! Whether it’s in the water or on a field, it’s time to play. Campers will get to participate in a number of fun contests and cheer there fellow campers and staff along the way. Playing your heart out may leave our campers needing more energy so each camper will get to make their own Muscle Munch Mix (variation of trail mix). Three days of pool time and to end the week campers will take a trip to Bowlero to master the game of bowling!
Session 5: Up in the Air (7/22 -7/26)
Up Up and Away we go to an adventurous camp week. Campers will participate in a number of high flying fun activities. Three days of exclusive Wolfe Park Pool time are included. Campers will take a trip to Urban Air-Orange, where they will test their high flying skills on trampolines and balance beams. This week campers will experience a candy explosion as we sweeten the summer up!
Session 6: Show Time (7/29 - 8/2)
One of our more memorable camp events each year involves the camp talent show. The Talent Show allow campers to stand out, feel special, show their abilities and glow in the attention of their peers. Campers and staff alike will work together to put on "Summer Fun Days has Talent" Show. Participants will be able to cool off with a Popsicle Party and enjoy three days of swimming exclusive Wolfe Park Pool time. A field trip to the Movies is planned! Movie is TBD and will be age appropriate.
Session 7: Bingo Bonanza (8/5 - 8/9)
Come one, come all and step right up to try your hand at our game show themed week. Games designed by our staff to test your memory, knowledge, agility, or your luck. Three days of exclusive Wolfe Park Pool time are included. The on-site entertainment for this week is The Game Show Mania LLC, a trivia show that creates fun for the whole group. We will have an Ice Cream Sundae Social and a camp wide Bingo game.
Session 8: World Wide Sports (8/12 - 8/16)
Beat the back to school blues with your last chance to have some summer fun! This week will be jam-packed with the summer’s most popular games and activities. Campers will be working together to make their groups Team Flag, wear their favorite sports team hat and dust off their favorite sports jersey they own. A giant inflatable obstacle course will be stopping by to test your speed and agility. Three days of exclusive Wolfe Park Pool time are included, as well as many other exciting activities. As we send off our campers, we have one last thing to do… a pizza party of course!

Our Cancellation/Withdrawal from all programs procedure has changed! (as of 11/6/23 by our Parks & Recreation Commission)
Effective December 1, 2023
Monroe Parks and Recreation Department programs are self-funded. The fees you paid for these programs are used to cover the cost of instructors, facilities and supplies. It is important to have full registration in all programs to provide the opportunity for participation and for the program to run. When you are thinking about registering for a program, please note our new policy for cancelling/withdrawing your spot.
If you need to cancel/withdraw 14 days or more prior to the start of the program you will be only refunded 50 % of the total program cost and the other 50% is the cancellation fee and will be retained by the department.
If you need to cancel/withdraw 13 days or less prior to the start of the program you will get an account credit of 50% of the total program cost and the other 50% is the cancellation fee and will be retained by the department.
After the start of any program you are registered for there are No Refunds/Credits given.
A full refund will only be given if the request is in writing with a documented medical note submitted by a physician due to an illness/injury prior to the start of program. If one started a program and can’t continue due to an injury/illness, a pro-rated refund will be given, but a documented medical note is still required.
If the Monroe Parks and Recreation Department cancels a program due to insufficient enrollment a full refund will be given. There are no refunds/credits when we reschedule a program or class due to weather/unforeseen circumstance or facility changes and we provide an alternative activity.
