Registration and selections for the 2025-2026 travel basketball teams are closed as of 9/30/25.
Phone calls for the 8th grade boys travel team selections went out on 10/1.
Phone calls for 5th grade girls travel team selections went out on 10/1 & 10/2.
Phone calls for 6th grade girls travel team selections went out on 10/1 & 10/2.
Phone calls for 5th & 6th grade boys travel team selections were made over the weekend of 9/26, 9/27 & 9/28.
If you got a voice message, please call Missy Orosz back ASAP. If you do not want your spot, we will like to offer it to the next player in line.
All try-outs ended as of September 29, 2025.
The Monroe Parks and Recreation Department will be holding tryouts for our travel basketball program. This will be the third season offering this opportunity for youth in current grades of 5th through 8th only.
If your child is planning/interested in trying out, please register with fee for try-outs so we can get a good idea on how many players are seriously considering coming to the try-outs. (dates, locations and time are now available as of 9/12/25-scroll all the way to the bottom)
There is a $25.00 try out fee when you register. If you make a team, the fee will go towards your overall fee due for the travel basketball season once the teams are set. If you do not make a team, then we will use your fee towards the registration for our youth recreational basketball league that anyone can play instead or you will get an account credit towards another program in the future. There will be no refunds.
Please read the attached flyer for additional information that is located in bottom left of this page. It is mandatory to attend one of the try-outs in order to be considered for a possible roster spot.
There is no guarantee we will be able to offer every grade level this season.
This program is only for Monroe year round youth residents. Teams are based on your current grade not age. (This is different that recreation youth league)
We have coaches set for 6th grade boys, 6th grade girls and 8th grade boys so far. We will be looking to add more volunteer coaches based on tryouts for other grade levels.
The last day to register for try-outs is September 21, 2025.
This is just the try-out registration and not signing up for a set team. You will be given special instructions to formally register and pay full fee if your child gets selected.
Make sure if you register that you are set up to receive email alerts from an active email you check regularly as this is the way we communicate.
