2026-2027 Boys Youth Recreational Basketball League Grade 2 through Grade 8
Registration is now open for the 2026-2027 Monroe Youth Basketball League for boys in grades 2 through 8. (This is different from the girls program and from last season!)
Program meets on various week nights for practices and uses various Monroe Public School gyms.
Games are either one week a night or on Saturday using a rotating time basis. Final schedules will be released once gym permits are complete and registration is done.
Announcements will be posted about the dates & times of evaluation nights that will happen in November.
We do not have practices or games when Monroe Public Schools are closed for holidays and weather early dismissal/closures.
The season runs mid-November through late February/early March. (Any weather related issues may cause us to add time at the end to complete program)
All participants will get a team T-Shirt. (If you do not order the correct size for your player at time of initial registration, there will be an additional $10.00 charge to re-order an additional shirt) Make sure you indicated whether you require an adult or child size when answering the custom question.
Site coordinators and certified basketball officials will be at each game.
Boys Division are:
Grades 2 & 3
Grades 4 & 5
Grades 6,7 & 8
We need adult volunteer coaches to help with the various levels. All prospective coaches MUST pass a background check before being selected by our long time basketball director, Jacqui Sheftz. If interested, please send and email to parksandrec@monroect.gov so you cane receive the paperwork required.
There is a max of two coaches for each team.
All participants need appropriate athletic clothing and sneakers, a filled water bottle for each game/practice.
Fee is $200.00 per child if registered by October 16, 2026. Fee increases to $250.00 as of 10/17/26. Registration deadline 10/30/26, but if there are still openings in certain divisions we may take more players. Don't delay on signing up!
Make sure you include a valid email address that you check regularly as we communicate information by email and that you understand our refund/cancellation policy before making the decision to enroll.
Team rules, schedules and expectations of behavior for participants and spectators will be posted once registration is complete.
There is NO requesting teams, coaches or nights of practices and games. Our league is run on certain nights based on the volunteers availability, enrollment in each division and when we get the permits to access the schools for use.
