Since 1979, Skyhawks sports has led safe, fun and skill-focused sports camps and programs for youth between the ages of 4-14. They offer different sports--and countless ways for your child to grow.  

Program offerings are subject to changes based on enrollments and instructor availability.

Co-Ed Lacrosse
Lacrosse is one of the oldest team sports in America, started on the East Coast by the Native Americans in the 12th century. Suit up and come find our why it has grown to be one of the fastest growing sports in the country. Lacrosse combines the basic skills used in soccer, basketball, and hockey into one fast paced, high scoring game. Athletes will learn all the fundamentals of stick handling, cradling, passing, and shooting, all in a fun, non-checking environment. Our staff will ensure that campers not only learn the sport of lacrosse, but also important life skills such as respect, teamwork, and discipline. Every athlete will come away with a deep understanding of the game and its traditions.
Additional gear to bring: lacrosse shoes, (or comfortable athletic shoes) gloves, helmet with face mask, stick, gloves

 
Flag Football
Skyhawks flag football is the perfect program for your young athletes who want a complete introduction to America's Game or for those who simply want to brush up on their skills in preparation for league play. Through our 'skill of the day' campers will learn skills on both sides of the ball including the core components of passing, catching, and de-flagging or defensive positioning - all presented in a fun & positive environment. The week ends with the Skyhawks Sports Bowl, giving participants a chance to showcase their skills on the gridiron!
Additional gear to bring: football shoes, (or comfortable athletic shoes)

 
Volleyball
Skyhawks Volleyball takes the energy and excitement of this great team sport and puts it all together into one fun-filled camp. All aspects of the game are taught through drills and exercises that focus on passing, setting, hitting and serving. This co-ed program is designed for the beginner to intermediate player and will incorporate essential life-lessons such as teamwork and sportsmanship. Our volleyball staff will assist each athlete in developing the fundamental skills of the game through game-based drills and daily scrimmages aimed at developing the whole player.
Additional gear to bring: volleyball shoes, (or comfortable athletic shoes) knee pads

 
Multi Sport
Our Multi-Sport camp is designed to introduce young athletes to a variety of different sports in one setting. For this program we combine 2-3 sports into one fun-filled week. Athletes will learn the rules and essentials of each sport through skill-based games and scrimmages. By the end of the week, your child will walk away with knowledge of (2 or 3) new sports along with vital life lessons such as respect, teamwork, and self-discipline.

Mini Hawk
This multi-sport program was developed to give children a positive first step into athletics. The essentials of baseball, basketball, and soccer are taught in a safe, structured environment with lots of encouragement and a big focus on fun. Our Mini-Hawk games and activities were designed to allow campers to explore balance,movement, hand/eye coordination, and skill development at their own pace. Skyhawks staff are trained to handle the specific needs of young athletes.

 
Food to Bring:
Lunch, snack & water bottle (for programs over four hours), two snacks & water bottle (for programs four hours or less)
 
‍Gear to Bring:
Appropriate clothing, water bottle, comfortable athletic shoes and sunscreen.

Weather Policy
Unfortunately, Skyhawks participants will encounter some rainly days. In the case of extreme weather conditions, the director at each site may cancel or postpone the program for the safety of the participants. To determine if there is a cancellation or postponement, please check the Parks and Recreation Department's cancellation line at 339-6106 after 8am. Please note, Skyhawks' 1-800 telephone number may not have updated weather information. In the rare event of a program cancellation, your child will not be left alone. The onsite director will ensure that every participant is picked up by a parent, guardian or by the emergency contact. Skyhawks and the Parks and Recreation Department cannot provide refunds for cancellations or postponements that are weather related.
